Brownie NEEDS HELP one vertibrae under attack!

Donation protected
LATEST NEWS DECEMBER 2023:
Brownie went in for a recheck 6 months after his surgery and the procedure was a huge success! However on the xray the Surgeon noticed one of his tail vertebrae, really high up, was disintegrating.

Further diagnostics are scheduled for Wednesday Dec 20. They will cost $1700 to do a fine needle aspirate to determine the cause of the breaking down of BROWNIE'S vertebrae.

I will be seeking treatment methods and can use all the help, love and support from all of you. While I continue to sell everything I own to help Brownie survive (yet again) I really am begging you all for a little extra Christmas gift giving for his fundraiser.

He couldn't have gotten this far without all of you. I am doing everything in my power to keep him alive as besides his tail he is perfectly happy and wants to live!

Pray for Brownie. Pray for me.
This is the hardest challenge I have yet to fave with him, having saved his life four times already since 2020 due to crazy medical challenges.

UPDATE: Brownie is recovering post surgery and all of my resources have been used up. His follow up care and prescriptions are still overwhelming. Any help you can give is much appreciated as I struggle to nurse him back to health. Hoping nothing seriously goes wrong as we won't be able to afford any additional vet bills at this time and so we ask you to continue to share and donate to this fundraiser.

Hoping for the best outcome.

Brownie is a happy, lively dog but needs specialty surgery to remove perianal (butt) tumors (non cancerous.) The surgeon gives a good prognosis and will also neuter him to prevent tumor regrowth as these often occur in unnuetered older male dogs!

Brownie is ten years old with a lot of energy and spirit. He is extremely smart, sensitive and my best friend.

I nursed him back to health for months after a sudden illness on Valentine's Day of 2020 left him with Irritable Bowel Disease for life. I maintain Brownie with his daily meds and prescription dogfood as my full time job and things have not gotten any easier for either of us. Two summers ago he got sick again and was struck with Bell's Palsy. It became hard for him to drink water and eat and got pnemonia twice from aspiration. I hand fed him and made sure his non blinking eye constantly had eye drops. Almost a year later his eye can blink and he was eating on his own when his butt developed cysts called perianal tumors that happen from testosterone in unnuetered older male dogs.

The surgery is expensive and I have been struggling for over two years with my own health and saving money for Brownie's surgery but it was slow going as the procedure is $5500! I was almost there and Brownie was seemingly doing great when about a month ago he became very ill puking and shaking and developing a fever that topped at 104.7 when I rushed him to the ER where they gave him subcutaneous antibiotics but didn't think he would make it. I brought him back two more times for fluids and antibiotics and bought expensive compounded antibiotics and probiotics and continued to hand feed him. Every hour making sure he takes enough water via a syringe to prevent him from choking and stay hydrated on all the meds.

Now he is on his feet and happily playing a few hours a day and remains on a full regimine of antibiotics and pain meds to soothe his pain as unnuetered males often suffer from enlarged prostates! SURGERY WILL prevent reoccurring infection (as his tumors have become ulcerated meaning they are open and often bleed and can easily get infected), shrink his prostate and any cysts within it as well as keep any new perianal tumors from forming. Without this surgery he could get very ill again and even die. The longer I wait the more the tumors grow and the specialty surgeon is concerned they may become inoperable. So I'm asking all of you for a little help as I scramble to generate money on my own while giving Brownie the care he needs to survive each day til surgery.

Brownie is excited about life everyday and now is a healthy weight and stable where the only thing really worrisome are these growing tumors hurting his butt and the continued supply of testosterone. It is ideal to have both surgeries at once and after seeing 4 doctors finally found a specialist confident to perform the surgery.

Thank you for your help. Brownie is a very affectionate and loving dog and he gives you kisses too! He was well on his way to internet stardom before falling ill last recently as The Fairygodmothers Dog.

Please help even just ten bucks from each of you will go a long way.
